"Hi there,

I’m Alice and I'm back with another quick video blog and today I want to talk about how you can ensure that your listings can always be found by buyers  when you sell on eBay.

If you sell on eBay I’m sure you are already aware of the competition there and this is something that a lot of sellers struggle with. One thing you can do to help increase your sales is get your listings ranking better in search results by optimizing your listings for Best Match.

Best Match is eBay’s search algorithm, and the algorithm has presets which helps it determine which listings to rank closer to the top of the search results.

So just to illustrate what I mean, if I search for nike womens shoes size 8, these listings which appear here at the top of the search results are the ones which Best Match has decided should rank here. And this is really important because many buyers do not look past the 1st page of search results, so it’s really important that your listing rank well.

So how do get your listings selected by Best Match to appear on the first page of results?

Well here are 3 quick tips.

1. Optimize your listing item titles

First of all, you need to optimize your listing title. Make sure it contains all the important keywords that a buyer will use when they search for something. Also make sure that these keywords are close to the beginning of the item title.

2. Offer free shipping

Another thing you can do is offer free shipping. eBay loves when you offer buyers free shipping and so they reward you with higher rankings when you do. A lot of people talk about the fact that free shipping increases their sales and I believe that one of the reasons for this is because when you offer free shipping, eBay ranks your listings better, so they get more exposure and therefore, you get more sales!

3. Do auction format listings with Buy It Now options.

eBay loves when sellers give buyers options, so when you give buyers the opportunity to either place their bid, or buy the item right away, it will help with your rankings.

Give these tips a go this week and try optimizing your listings for Best Match and let me know how you get on.

If you want more in-depth information on how to get your listings ranking on any marketplace, or getting your wesbite ranking in Google, I suggest you check out Online Selling Tactics, my new video course.

Hi Alice, I am still on the fence whether I should join Salehoo or Worldwide brands. I've been hearing that Salehoo has alot of suppliers posing as wholesalers when in fact they are just a middleman. What is your opinion? How do I know that the supplier I am contacting is a legitimate wholesaler. Thank you for your time.
  • Alice Delore 10th of February
    Hi Leonardo,

Thanks for getting in touch. We guarantee that all our suppliers listed in our directory are legitimate wholesale suppliers, and not "middlemen" :)

To be listed in our database, all suppliers must:

    - Have been online for at least 2 years.
    - Be a genuine wholesaler, liquidator, manufacturer or drop shipper.
    - Offer multiple, valid contact methods, such as a land line number, a physical address, email and - A cell phone number.
    - Must offer a safe payment method.
    - If offering brand name products, the supplier must offer genuine or designer-inspired brands.

Remember, when you join SaleHoo, you have a 60 day money back guarantee, so if you are not satisfied with our list of supplier, or anything else about the membership, you have the option of getting a refund with no questions asked.

You can learn more about the benefits of SaleHoo here: http://www.salehoo.com/learn-more

    Thanks!

Great ebay selling tips. The one thing that I would change about the video is having it start up when the page loads. Some people might have their speakers turned way up.
