Hi, I'm Karen, also new member. Dont know what to sell looking at jewellery but cant find a good cheap distributor of quality real jewellery. Keep up the good work Regina, do you sell on ebay or elsewhere. Would like to try something elsa as well but when I look at the margins on a lot of products a lot on ebay go for less than what we would have to pay for them. I have no idea what to look into that is going to turn a profit or what or what sort of items to go for or even where is the best place to post them. Good luck guys. Karen

Hi there, I'm Bryan, it's good to see that there are a number of members here from australia. I'm just new here, if you don't mind me asking, is there a supplier that you can recommend for mens/womens clothing. I'm just browsing through the suppliers list that are australia-based but i couldn't see any that offers a good potential product list. Looks like I might end up importing it from overseas. I'm just after generic clothing (unbranded). Any help would be appreciated.

My name is Noeleen & I just signed up today. I live in Geelong. I haven't had a chance to look around the site much yet but I do have a question that perhaps one of you may be able to help with. Where on the site can we search for Australian based dropshippers & wholesalers? Thanks for starting this thread Robby as I had thoughts along the same line. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Karen sorry i havent replied earlier..been extrememly busy with ebay lately..Yes i sell on ebay and i am doing extremely well..When i first started i was exactly like you didnt know where to go or what to sell. The first item i bought to resell was a few mens designer clothes..Which i was so suprised how much i actually got for them...So that made me more determined..It was extremely difficult to find authentic wholesale designer clothing that you could actually make a good profit from..I even nearly bought from china...but decided i didnt want to fool people into believing that what i was selling was authentic...So i dont buy from china at all..i just browsed and browsed the internet...typed in exactly what i was looking for contacted all of them..Asked them many many questions..Big question to ask is Do they guarantee that the products u are buying are authentic..where do they get them from. and do they refund 100% of your money if you find they are not authentic...Luckily i have found my two suppliers who do...
ebay have this policy if you sell fake or replicas you will be suspended...FALSE....Now that i know what the fake designer clothing look like as i have been (i think) to every fake site on the internet..i would say 90% of the designer clothing that are for sale on ebay are FAKE..I dont know of any australian wholesalers...I got some great bargains from a designer clearance sale in Melbourne a few months back ...Look on the internet for clearance sales in your area..If u give them your email address they will let you know when and where they are held each month..Ive tried oztion auction but had no luck with them at all....so i will stick to ebay..The Netherlands are a good place to buy from All their products what i have encountered are authentic..And actually a lot of designer clothing is made in India...billabong for one...which i didnt know..until recently...but i could have found out that earlier if i would have looked at their tags..But if you looking for unbranded clothing i cant see how that would be too difficult to find if you give me your email address i can send you some sites for you to look at.....

Hi reginadp53 , Im a fellow aussie, victoria, i joined here awhile ago with intention of opening a store in my town , but never got into it , im interested in your discoveries of sites you found in netherlands, ive surfed the net so many times in search of good sites for designer clothg and struggled. i know australia doesnt have any decent sites..i have found a couple also in my trecks, maybe we can share some ideas on sites. i found a rippa awhile ago on D&G clothing , was an italian site , seems too good to be true . im yet to purchase from them as im still sniffing them out to see if they are legit. So anyone thats willing to throw a few good designer clothing sites my way would be much appreciated!
thanks
dan

Hi All,
Im also new to this site, orig from NZ and living back in Sydney.
Im looking into and have been tirelessly researching for months now, and trying to find good wholesalers of womens clothing/accessories in Australia, it sadly seems like there are not many Australian members here and there is only info best used for the US. Just like all the other websites :(
Can anyone offer help, advise or suppliers info as i would like to buy stock asap and dive in.
Any help and support would be greatly received!
Regina how are you going, any info :)

hah that's the one problem i have Reg, i have no idea what i want to buy and resell! i will have to do some research on what best makes good profit. I do know i am interested in joining an investment group buying and selling a large quantity of stock. This would be the best option for me as i am light on the cash at moment.

Hi all, My name is Del and I live in Brisbane I've been with salehoo for about 6 months but havn't had a lot of luck with suppliers/dropshippers, had one all lined up, then they suddenly seemed to non exist so back to square one. But it is great to see other fellow aussies sharing ideas etc. Lets hope we can get more manufactures to supply us here instead of having to look overseas.
I'm more interested in setting up a website than selling on ebay but I'm willing to give anything a go if a good supplier can be found.
Cheers

Hi everyone,

I just joined too. A bit of a sad story really but it was kind of out of desperation.

I'm Australian as well and am on my second career. I've worked in advertising since I was sixteen as a creative person and then became a film director making commercials. I was at the top of my field for years but last year my father became very I'll and I spent every cent I had trying to keep him alive.

To cut a long story short it didn't work and he died in January. So having not worked for a year I've kind of fallen off the end of the train and am finding hard to get back on.

I have however found an enthusiasm for using my skills selling stuff online. It started with dad''s things and then I moved on to stuff I have around the house and have quite enjoyed the response.

Trouble is it's not really paying the mortgage and I'm gonna be in a world of poo very soon I know, but I've been so depressed and have found it hard to get out there and re prove myself to the ad industry which is really what I really should do.

I know there's no quick fix to this but... I'm a talented writer/director/designer and I thought maybe there was a way here that I could apply a bit of that just to tide me over while I get enough ticker to source some other work. I don't know. Maybe I'll even build an empire but I just need some cash right now.

I have no idea where to start and as Del said everything seems geared mainly to US markets.

Hell I'd even be happy writing peoples copy for them at this stage. The amount of responses I get for the descriptions I write from even just ebay watchers is astounding.

Anyway if anyone has any ideas for us Aussies let us know.

This seems like a good place to start something. Friendly people and a family kind of attitude.

I only joined today and have been exploring and researching as much as I can but I'm a bit bamboozled now lol.

Help!

Cheers
Spike

Ok mate,

Let me warm up a bit and pick the eyes out of it and I'll PM you. Bit of info overload right now and I only joined yesterday.

I thought maybe branded clothing as I have few t shirt designs I never printed but then I started looking at what could turn over some quick cash while I accumulate knowledge.

Smart phones, personal devices such seem to be quite good but I'm not sure about the suppliers at this stage.

Thanks Darryl
Spike

Hi everyone,
Im teusz,
Currently researching afew suppliers in the hope of reselling afew items as a hobby. Profits would be ideal indeed!
Its good to see fellow Australians! I understand the struggle of comming up with a potential suppliers as profits usually shrink when shipping charges are included.
I see potential in Australia despite its reasonably small population.

Looking forward to talking business.
Im in Sydeny, studying at unsw.
Warm Regards

Hi everyone, Aussie's and abroad! My name is Jamie and I live in the middle of nowhere. I've just joined salehoo in an effort to increase my sales on ebay. Ebay started out as a hobbie for me, selling surplus stock from my family's retail store but unfortunately due to my partners ill health I have to turn it into my main source of income and work from home fulltime. EBay has has its ups and downs as I'm sure you all know, I've done allright so far mainly with children's books. I'm looking to expand my range of products to become more of a general novelty & giftware kind of store, it's a slow process. Anyway I'm stuck on dial up for another few weeks until I get my satelite connected so just thought I would say hi. I'll be back in a few weeks and will seriously want to find some good suppliers and resume trading in ernest! Ah yes, I wanted to ask, do many of you actually find many wholesalers here willing to sell to people without an abn? And where in the forum do most of the aussie's share ideas and information? We are a registered business in the graphic design industry and I've found so far having an abn definately helps when dealing with wholesalers. I've found a few good ones through Link hidden: Login to view
Must go for now, happy ebaying and good luck to you all.

For the oz members. Did a little searching and came up with these aussie based suppliers. Dont know anything about them good or bad.
Proceed with caution. Hope they help.

hi reginadp53
this is just an opion to your comment about Link hidden: Login to view
have you ever considered the fact that most australian ebay buyers dont know about oztion
if you do as i did and and tell all your past and present ebay buyers about oztion , just maybe they will have a look , and to there surprise they will find that they can get items much cheaper than on ebay

it makes me laugh and also makes me sad to see australians fighting and bidding against each other for ridiculous prices, when most times these same items are many dollars cheaper on oztion
be an ozy and support an ozy , at the moment all you are doing is supporting a multi million dollar us based concern.
all you have to do is send your customers a private email outside of ebay just as i did , and let them know that you are there.

its free to list and your consumer rights and privacy are not compromised .

ebay is going to have a big shock if they think that the australian accc is going to allow them to dictate to australian citizens on how they must pay for there purchases (paypal for gods sake is owned by ebay , just another way to rape a few more dollars out of this beautiful country

oztion is only young and has already got over 300,000 members

just think about it if you send emails to your customers and they tell there friends and so on and so on
it wont be long before you have more buyers on oztion, yes i agree it is very slow , i have managed to sell $9,000 of stock in the last 12 months
i sell mainly top brand electronics no fakes , for instance i sell mobile phones for a buy now price that most ebay sellers start there bidding at
yes there are a lot of fake and copy items on all sites but thats what people want especially in the clothing and accessorie department

for example ed hardy clothing, buyers bid like crazy on ebay and end up paying nearly twice the cost you can buy it for on oztion .

if only they new

any way just an opinion

Hi everyone, I'm another newbie here, I live in rural Aus. I'm on dial up when ever my vSat decides to die on me which is quite often.

Anyways, I signed up last week in hope of getting some ideas and also where to find suppliers, I've been very busy this last week checking out a few things... and yay I found something I was looking for and put in my very first order today.

I've never been a seller on eBay or Oztion only ever the buyer so wish me luck guys and gals.

Cheers Lynda :)

Hi Lynda, I will wish you luck, you're going to need it lol. It's all good though, just be prepared for a lot of late nights and do a lot of research before you invest too much $. I understand the dial up dillema... I recently moved to a rural area where I can't get adsl but finally got my satellite connection up and running thanks to the Aussie Government Subsidy and lots of fighting with Telstra. I hope you find it's worth it for you, Cheers, Jamie.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Jason, I live in adelaide, I joined a few days ago and have been looking over the site and reading a lot of topics in the forums and have found a lot of advice. I'm trying to get a business off the ground selling consumer electronics. I decided to sell on ebay to get some experience and start with some small items such as mp3 players to try and build some cash and eventually buy bigger quantities. If anyone would like to share any of their suppliers for mp3 players, phones etc. It would be appreciated. I have come across quite a few mostly in china(which can be risky). I prefer genuine items as they seem to get better final prices. Non-branded items can be profitable if you can get them cheap enough.

I look forward to sharing ideas with you all.
Cheers
Jason

Good day, my name is Jack from Sydney. I just begin with Ebay selling two months ago (doing alright). Basically, I am selling variety of stuffs such as mobile phone, game consoles and some time TV as well. The supply for the items is not constant so I joined Salehoo for a supplier source which will lead me to success in selling on ebay. After nearly 2 weeks of exhausted looking at my laptop, I have found a great seller and I have ordered from him/her a first package. Hopefully everything will go smoothly as I predicted. Looking forward a great start in 2009. Merry Xmas to all

Hi my name is corey and i currently operate out of the gold coast.

If any one is looking to buy high quality limited edition T-shirts at wholesale prices please send me a email.

all t-shirts are printed in Australia at my own factory.

We have just decided to use our team of designers to come up with new high quality designs. These designs are unbranded so if you would like your own brand name on the t-shirts we can stick your own brand label on the designs.

We aim to release three new designs a month and looking for some wholesale partners if you have any question please let me know

you can also see what we have designed this month at
